Doha Hockey Club was founded in 2007 by a group of friends that occasionally met up for a bit of a ‘knock about’. When the Qatar Hockey Federation launched the first league, Doha Hockey Club fielded just 1 team. By the second year we were able to field 2 full teams and for the past two seasons we have entered 3 teams in the league.

In the domestic league we have been successful for the last two years, with our third team finishing as the 2nd Division champions and our 1st team finishing as runners-up in the Premier League in 2009-2010.

During the 2011-2012 season, our 2nd team won promotion to the Premier League after a very hard fought campaign.

Although not achieving a high finishing position, the 3rd team were awarded the Haji Gulzaeb Fair Play trophy last season in recognition of the sportsman-like manner in which they played hockey.

Internationally, the club won the Tri-nations trophy at the Dubai Tri-nations tournament in 2009 beating both Bahrain and the host teams from Dubai.

In 2011 the club hosted the inaugural Qatar 6s hockey tournament, attracting teams from around the region. The event proved so successful that plans are already in place for a further tournament next year.
